EP17 - [Settling into life in Shanghai]
Coming back from Wu Zhen, SY is getting ZSC settled into her apartment in Shanghai. SY repurposed WYY's previous room for ZSC as his home office, and also showed ZSC a star map that she got specifically to gift to ZSC. Being the thin brained researcher he is, ZSC took a minute to appreciate before heading out to grab a power strip for his home office.
While in Zheng Jiang, MX was chatting with ZWX and a few other folks about his criteria for his wife. MX wrote down a riddle that ZWX ended up sending to ZSC. ZSC then shared this with SY, and of course SY was able to answer. The conversation quickly ended when MX didn't want to create an awkward situation, knowing that SY met his criteria.
In Shanghai, SY invited ZSC to sleep on the same bed with her despite previously saying they should sleep separately until post marriage ceremony. And this was the first time ZSC realized SY has the tendency of stealing blanket. The next day they went on a romantic dinner on a boat. SY, being the mood maker, decided to do an impromptu skit with ZSC. SY played an average person, while ZSC played the general that he was in his previous life. And they had a cute role playing conversation as if meeting for the first time. At the end of dinner, it started raining so both of them left to head home. While in the car, ZSC asked SY if she likes kids, which SY then understood as his hint for perhaps some action once they get home.
SY got changed into a sexy lingerie to reel ZSC to bed, but ZSC totally missed the hint so SY left to bed by herself. A few minutes later, after much thought, ZSC realized his mistake so he awkward made it back to the bedroom to tell SY that now he's ready.
The next morning, SY's grandparents and little cousin came to visit, which took everyone by surprise because SY's family has yet to know about their marriage, let alone them living together. SY then hurriedly rushed ZSC out of the apartment, without realizing that ZSC is still dressed in home-wear.
EP18 - [ZSC meets SY's parents about living together, ZWC gets divorced]
After ZSC left, SY proceeded to host her grandparents and cousin WYY. Having nowhere else to go, ZSC then returns to his Shanghai research lab. Back in Zhen Jiang, MX and his father visits the Zhou family mansion, where the elders of the two families tries to matchmake MX and ZWX, but was quickly reprimanded by ZWX for suggesting this so suddenly.
Skip to SY picking up ZSC from his research lab and they then visits their newlywed home to pick up a suit for ZSC in order to visit SY's parents, now that SY's grandparents has passed on the news that ZSC and SY are living together. As they are walking over to SY's parents' apartment, the couple agreed on not sharing the fact that they've already gotten their marriage license, in order to not shock SY's parents. Thus, both of them had to take off their wedding rings before entering SY's parents apartment. While inside her parents' apartment, SY and her mom had a mother daughter chat in a room with terrible sound insulation, which ended up causing her dad and ZSC hearing the entire conversation. Hearing everything SY was telling them, both of her parents became more relaxed about SY and ZSC's future. Much to SY's mom's surprise, while ZSC was helping to wash vegetables, SY gave him a peck on the cheek. ZSC's entire visit to his in-laws was heartwarming, and ended on a peaceful exit as SY made the excuse to leave early so that ZSC can attend to work at night.
Outside of SY's parents apartment, a dog barked viciously at SY which alarmed ZSC. And SY then told ZSC that a fortune teller once told SY's mom that SY was not supposed to be born. The next day, ZSC needed to go back to Zhen Jiang so SY woke up early to make breakfast for both ZSC and chauffeur Lin.
Also the same morning ZWC went to look for the the granddaughter tailor after successfully getting the divorce papers so that he and TJR can go their separate ways. ZWC then proposed to the granddaughter tailor. While at the Zhou family mansion, ZWX learns that ZSC and SY encountered an attack in Germany. Then ZSC arrives to the Zhou family mansion to meet his father's family business friends, who are all ready to support ZSC's succession to the business.
ZWC then proceeds to ask for the entire tailor family's blessing to marry the granddaughter tailor. While ZSC's step-mother reluctantly accepts the reality that TJR cannot be her daughter-in-law anymore. At the same time in ZSC's room, ZSC and MX are talking about SY, as ZSC reminisces about the difference as a married man. The episode ends with SY coming down with a cough and perhaps a fever.
